Fans of Alex Gross (interviewed) are always interested to see his latest paintovers of cabinet cards, a style of mounted photography widely used for photographic portraiture after 1870, with the latest produced up to the 1920s. Scouring his personal trove of these collectibles for likenesses to his favorite comic book, movie, and TV characters, the Los Angeles-based artist repurposes these images of people from the past through his art.
